Canton Ballet Brings Dance Into the Day with 2026–27 Programs

Sep 30, 2026

Canton Ballet is now enrolling for its 2026–27 daytime programs, offering opportunities for participants across generations — from career- and college-oriented advanced dancers to older adults.

This season’s daytime offerings include Silver Steps, a movement program for older adults, and the Daytime Professional Training Track, an audition-based program for advanced-level dancers pursuing collegiate or professional goals.

Together, the programs provide opportunities for artistic development, education, wellness and movement beyond the traditional evening studio schedule.

Silver Steps

Canton Ballet’s Silver Steps provides aging adults with an opportunity to experience the physical, cognitive and social benefits of dance in an accessible and welcoming environment.

Through guided movement and music, participants work on mobility, coordination, balance and creative expression while enjoying the social connection of a group dance experience. No previous dance experience is required, and movement can be adapted to individual abilities.

Silver Steps is offered in six-week sessions, with the first session running Oct. 7 – Nov. 18, 2026 (no class Oct. 28).

The program reflects Canton Ballet’s commitment to lifelong movement and provides an opportunity for older adults to experience the benefits of dance in a supportive studio setting.

Daytime Professional Training Track

Canton Ballet’s Daytime Professional Training Track is designed for advanced-level students pursuing career- or college-oriented dance training.

The program allows dancers to incorporate rigorous daytime ballet training into their academic schedules while preparing for the expectations of collegiate dance programs and professional careers.

Admission to the Daytime Professional Training Track is by audition, with enrollment available on a rolling basis throughout the season. Students do not need to be enrolled in Canton Ballet’s Pre-Professional Division to audition for or participate in the program.

This structure provides an additional pathway for qualified advanced dancers throughout the region, including homeschool and alternative-learning students, to access high-level daytime training at Canton Ballet.

Registration is now open for Silver Steps. Auditions and rolling admission are available for the Daytime Professional Training Track. Details regarding the return of Dancing Through the Canvas (in collaboration with the Canton Museum of Art) for early 2027 will be announced later this fall.
